UNION COUNTY – (Release from the Oregon Department of Transportation)

2nd Street Bridge over I-84:  Work here will continue for the next several weeks. Travel over the bridge will be reduced to one lane this week and then closed the following week. Throughout this week, crews will be work on repairing portions of the bridge structure.

The bridge will be closed again to vehicular traffic the week of September 19th. It will remain open to pedestrians and bicycles.

Bridge over I-84 at Upper Perry (Exit 256 EB Off Ramp): The contractor will continue to install new metal railing and protective screening across both sides of the bridge this week. There will be lane closures and flagging with up to 20-minute delays when work is occurring. There will be no traffic impacts if there is no work going on.

I-84 between Ladd Canyon and North Powder: The contractor will be finishing up EB shoulder paving this weekend and plan to transfer over to night work starting Sunday night.  They plan to start on the WB slow lane first and then move to the EB slow lane.  Each side should take about 6 nights to complete.  They will have slow lane closures at the locations being paved when work is occurring.

They will be finishing up the small concrete repairs in the slow lanes, two EB at approximate MP 274 and one WB at approximate MP 285, today.  Lane closure in these areas will continue into next week to allow the concrete to cure before allowing traffic on them.

The speed limit will be reduced to 55 MPH at the locations where work is occurring.
