WALLOWA – Work this week on the OR82 Bridge Replacement near Wallowa includes the start of constructing shoring of the existing highway to accommodate construction of the new bridge foundations. The shoring will result in the need to close one lane of the highway as the new foundations encroach on the existing highway pavement.
According to ODOT, a temporary traffic signal will be in place. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers or the temporary traffic signal during working hours, and by the temporary traffic signal during non-working hours. Up to 20-minute delays can be expected 24/7. The signal is expected to remain in place until both travel lanes are available again early this fall.
Cranes and large drilling equipment will start arriving on the project sometime this week or early the next week.
