ODFW will host an in person public meeting on proposed mule deer hunt changes for 2026 seasons. The meeting is July 8, 5:30โ7:00 p.m. at the Grant County Regional Airport meeting room.
Weโre also planning an online meeting July 10 from 6-7:30 pm and will have more information including a link to the meeting next week.
These changes are part of a new mule deer management framework adopted by the ODFW Commission in 2024. The updated framework is based on deer movement and biological home ranges, which will help biologists more accurately model populations and set tag numbers.
Significant changes to mule deer hunt boundaries are being proposed, which hunters will need to be aware of for the 2026 hunting season.
The meetings will provide an overview of the proposed changes, give the public a chance to ask questions, and offer an opportunity to share feedback.
More information including tag numbers for 2026 seasons will be posted next week at MyODFW.com and we will send a news release with the online meeting dates.
