BAKER & UNION COUNTIES – Officials with the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife have authorized the killing of up to two wolves from the Frazier Mountain Pack, which the agency says is responsible for chronic attacks on livestock.
ODFW says a livestock producer requested lethal removal after four confirmed depredations since early November.
The pack is most recently confirmed to have killed a cow on private land in the Keating Valley of Baker County on December 16.
The permit to remove the wolves by the producer or an agent that they choose is valid until January 31.
ODFW says the Frazier Mountain Pack is currently estimated to include five wolves, including one juvenile.
