EASTERN OREGON – There have been quite a few inquiries on the current status of fire restrictions for ODF-protected lands. Fire managers would like to remind everyone that lands protected by Oregon Department of Forestry-Northeast Oregon District are still in Public Use Restrictions.

While fire season remains, no permits will be issued for open burning, debris piles, or burn barrels. Oregon Department of Forestry says, “We appreciate your patience as we wait for adequate precipitation to help lessen fire danger around the region.”

With opportunities to go out and enjoy the woods, please continue to use caution! Make sure campfires are allowed in the area you will be visiting, and always leave campfires DEAD OUT!

You can find up-to-date information for fire restrictions on all area forests by visiting www.bmidc.org or contact the Oregon Department of Forestry-Northeast Oregon Fire Prevention Information Line for more information on ODF’s Public Use Restrictions: (541) 975-3027.
