Celebrating Life

With heavy hearts and fond memories, we share the news of the passing of William Anthony Pifher, affectionately known by his loved ones as William. Born on June 2, 1957, in the close-knit community of Baker City, Oregon, William was a proud and unwavering pillar of the same community he grew up in. His departure on March 18, 2024, leaves a void that will be hard to fill, but his vibrant spirit will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of crossing paths with him. In the words of William Shakespeare, “Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.” William Pifher embodied all three facets of this quote through his life. A General Laborer by trade, he worked in Fabrication, where he applied his strong work ethic and genuine dedication. His hands built not only tangible structures, but also the foundational values of hard work, resilience, and integrity in his sons, William and Wyatt Pifher, who survive him. Their father’s legacy lives on through them, a testament to a life well-lived. William was born to Francis Pifher and Madeline Luster, who preceded him in death. His life was a living testament to the quote, “The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.” He had an innate ability to find joy in the simple things, a trait he inherited from his parents and passed on to his sons. His radiant smile and never-ending stories will be missed but never forgotten. In honor of William, we invite you to share your cherished memories and photos on the memorial page. As we remember and celebrate his life, let’s keep the essence of his spirit alive by recounting the moments of joy, laughter, and wisdom he shared with us. Obituary courtesy of Grays West & Co.
