Linda Marie Robbins (Vernholm), 84, of Baker City, Oregon, passed away on September 18, 2024, at her residence. She was born on April 18, 1940, in Wheatland, Wyoming, to Carl and Lois (Middleton) Vernholm. There will be a private family gathering in honor of Linda. Linda graduated from New Plymouth High School and earned her degree from the College of Idaho in 1962. She began her career as a second-grade teacher in the Boise School System from 1962 to 1965. Linda was introduced to her beloved husband Jim by a mutual friend in 1965. The romance grew through letters and phone calls. Their first date was at Disneyland, where Linda often took the train to see Jim in California. They married on July 5, 1966, in Caldwell, Idaho and were together until his passing in 2004. In 1968 their son Robert was born while they were living in Santa Maria, CA. Moving to Baker City in 1972, a year later their daughter Lynn was born. Linda was a dedicated wife and mother, teacher, and childcare provider. She was always busy, always engaged in her community. A devoted member of the United Methodist Church for over 40 years, Linda was known for her kindness and unwavering faith. She served as a 4-H leader in Home Economics, worked part time at Taco Time, and for 18 years volunteered at the Baker Heritage Museum. Linda loved traveling, riding on the back of Jim’s motorcycle, reading, having family dinners, and scrapbooking. Linda is survived by her son, Robert Robbins of Post Falls, Idaho; her daughter, Lynn Weems of Baker City, Oregon; her brother, Ron Vernholm of Missoula, Montana; and eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robbins; her brother, Dale Vernholm; and her great-granddaughter, Destiny Lynn Colton.
