Celebrating Life
Linda Johnson, 70, of Pendleton, Oregon passed away and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Oct. 20, 2023. Linda was born on Sept. 4, 1953, in Pendleton, Oregon, to Charles and Lou Reynolds. She grew up in Pilot Rock, Oregon, where she graduated from high school in 1971. Linda married the love of her life, Freddy Donald Johnson, on June 5, 1980. Linda worked for the Eastern Oregon Training Center in Pendleton, Oregon, until it closed in 2010. She then worked for BMRC until she retired on Jan. 1, 2014. She worked a total of 28 years for the state of Oregon. Most will remember Linda as a regular at the Roundup Athletic Club in Pendleton. Linda loved to go to the gym as often as possible, at least two times a day, if not more. She loved sports, gardening, baking, exercising, singing, her pets, cleaning (one would always find her house spotless), puzzles, her family and most of all her beloved Pastor Sharon Miller and her church family at Living Word Christian Center, where she was an active member in Pendleton, Oregon. Linda took pride in running the clothes closet at her church and helping those in need and lending a hand wherever she was needed. Something Linda loved doing that most were not aware of was writing poems. She had a gift for writing devotional poetry when God spoke to her. Linda is survived by her husband, Freddy Johnson, of Pendleton; her four children, sons, Michael Hulce, of Santa Rosa, California, and Jeremy Hulce of Lewiston, Idaho, and daughters, Kelly Johnson and Jami Overstreet, of Pendleton, Oregon; her mother, Lou Reynolds, of Pilot Rock, Oregon; her brother, David Reynolds, of Louisville, Kentucky; and eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one greatgrandchild due in February of 2024. Linda is predeceased in death by her father, Charles Reynolds, of Pilot Rock, Oregon; her brother, Jerry Reynolds, of Pendleton, Oregon; and her sister, Sue Anne Hiatt, of Renton, Washington. Linda will be greatly missed by her devoted husband of 43 years, her family and her friends. A private graveside service will be held for the family at Olney Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to Living Word Christian Center, Pendleton, Oregon Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of the arrangements.
