Celebrating Life

Gerald Franklin James, 84, of Salome, AZ and Sumpter, OR passed away on October 16, 2024. Born on March 13, 1940 in Edmonton, AB, Canada and became a U.S. citizen on August 29, 1968. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Gerald spent most of his years working in Unity, OR and working the family ranch in Sumpter, OR. He retired to Salome, AZ where he enjoyed telling stories, watching rodeos, and Fox News.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Dee James; children; Annette Stark (Jim), Georgia James, Dawn Morse, Dan Patton (Karen), and Carl ”CG” Patton (Shawna) as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.

He is proceeded in death by his father Brooks Hawley, mother Tyyne Hawley and son Anthony “Tony” James.

A remembrance Gathering will be held at the Elks Lodge, 1896 2nd St., Baker City, OR on November 1, 2024 at 4:00pm with a sandwich bar, appetizers and desserts.

We find comfort in knowing that Gerald’s legacy lives on through the memories we will cherish forever.
