Celebrating Life
Gale Homer Martin, 80, of Elgin, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at his residence. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 11:00am at the Elgin Community Center with a Potluck to follow.
Gale was born on September13, 1943 in Prineville, Oregon to Roy Homer and Nellie Roberta (Kincaid) Martin. He grew up in John Day, OR and resided in Elgin, OR. He was married to Sue Eaton, and later to Betty Lou Martin. Gale and Betty were happily together until his passing.
Gale attended school in John Day where he played High School football. He was a Timber Faller for 35 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, crabbing and most of all family time.
Gale is survived by his loving wife, Betty Lou Martin, their children; Jeanie Lambert (Gary) of Elgin, OR; Shelley Kennedy of Elgin, OR; Terry Martin (Teresa) of Elgin, OR, his bonus children; Shery Anderson (Chuck) of Elgin, OR, and Adam Erickson of Elgin, OR, his brother Bob Martin (Erlene) of Hermiston, OR, 10 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
