Celebrating Life

Armando Garcia Correa, 51, of La Grande, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at his residence. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Barrell Room, 10105 W First Street, Island City on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 10:00am.

Armando was born on January 10, 1972 in San Jeronimo, Mexico to Sebastian Garcia and Graciela Correa. He resided in San Jeronimo, Mexico; Woodburn, OR and La Grande, OR. He attended Eastern Oregon University. He was married to Brittney Heitz Jacobson from 2011-2021.

Armando worked for Eastern Oregon University, Eastern Oregon Rental and Sales from 2005-2017 and for Woodgrain from 2017-2022. He loved to help organize local (La Grande) runs, such as the Turkey Trot. He was very involved with his daughter’s school, Safety Coordinator at Woodgrain (Volunteer position), running (5k, 10k, half marathons and marathons), back packing, hiking, football (high school and life-long fan), soccer fan, Speel-Ya (EOU), volunteered at Blue Mountain Humane Society (prior to diagnosis).

Armando is survived by his daughters, Ashlee Horn of Silver Spring, Maryland, and Nora Garcia of La Grande, OR; father, Sebastian Garcia of Woodburn, OR; sisters, Yolanda Garcia (Velichko) of Aurora, OR, Elsa Garcia of Beaverton, OR and Rosa Garcia of Woodburn, OR and 6 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Graciela Garcia Correa.
