Aleta Mae Neal

Celebrating Life

Aleta Mae Breshears was the first born to William Donald Breshears and Lillie Alice Hodge, Breshears on November 7, 1931 in Enterprise, Oregon. 

She passed away at a local care facility in La Grande, Oregon on July 29, 2025. 

She lived in various areas of Wallowa County and graduated from Wallowa High School in 1949. 

She attended one year of college at what is now Eastern Oregon University. 

She married Gerald Francis Rimbey on December 31, 1950. They lived in various areas of Union and Wallowa County. Two children, Shirley and Pauline were born to this union. They later divorced. 

On May 18, 1962 she married Sylvanus Junior Neal in Lewiston, Idaho. They made their home in Promise, Oregon. Here they became a blended family with Shirley, Pauline and his three children, Mike, Greg and Patty. Later Kevin was born and created a family of yours, mine and ours. 

They later moved to Wallowa on Diamond Prairie and then to a ranch in Lostine and later to a home in the city of Lostine. 

Aleta was a member of the Wallowa Christian Church. She was an active board member of Cove Christian Camp for many years and directed many youth camps. She was 74 years old when she directed her last camp. She also helped out other volunteers at the camp for several years after that. 

She was active in the Wallowa Christian Church, Ladies Aid, and Good News Club. She also spent time volunteering for the Wallowa County Chamber of Commerce. 

She lived most all her life in Wallowa County. One of her favorite things to do was to go up to Wallowa Lake. She always said she was sure it was the most beautiful lake in the world. 

She is survived by children, Shirley, Pauline, Greg, Patty and Kevin, one sister, Fredia McDonald, fourteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. 

Services will be held Sunday August 10, 2025 at 2 PM  at Wallowa Christian Church and burial at the Lostine Cemetery.
