March 16, 1951 - February 24, 2024
Location Of Death: Baker City, OR United States
Allan Layne Spriet, 72, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2024 at Juniper Meadows Adult Foster Home in Baker City, Oregon. Allan was born on March 16, 1951 in Baker City to Deal and Arlene Spriet. He had five siblings; Larry (Janet) Spriet, Harley (ZoeAnne) Spriet, Anita (John) Goodyear, Evelyn (Chuck) Ulrey and Patti (Terry) Beeks. Allen never married or attended school because of his physical and mental handicap, but oh what a teacher of love, joy, and forgiveness he was. No one possessed these attributes better than Allan. He was someone who lived in the day without a worry of the future or any burden of the past. He brought a tremendous blessing to those who knew him. He grew up on a farm near the Elkhorn Mountains where he had the freedom to roam and explore with his dog, ride his 3-wheel bike or a riding lawn mower. He attended Step Forward for a number of years and when the van came to pick him up, he insisted on riding โshotgunโ or he wouldnโt get in. He loved country music, picnics, fishing and watching football. He is predeceased by his parents, Deal and Arlene Spriet and his brother Harley. There will be a graveside service on March 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Allanโs memory may be directed to Heart & Home Hospice or The Shrine Hospital for Children. This may be done through Coles Tribute Center, 1950 Place Street, Baker City, Oregon. Obituary courtesy of Coles Tribute Center.
