NYSSA — Valley Family Health Care, Inc. will receive $1,500,000 in federal funding to build a new facility in Nyssa. United States Senators Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden recently announced funding awards for nearly each county in Oregon.
With the construction of a modernized facility, Valley Family will be able to integrate medical, behavioral, and dental care into one place. It will be a Federally Qualified Health Center with the capability of serving “medically underserved people living in rural Eastern Oregon.”
Valley Family Health Care CEO Ken Hart said, “These funds will help Valley Family combine its medical and dental clinics in Nyssa into a new integrated clinic. The new clinic would allow for additional capacity for medical and dental services as well as allow us to better integrate behavioral health services for the community as well. Providing these needed healthcare services in Nyssa helps those that have difficulties traveling to get services as well as supporting the economic development needs of the area by keeping these well-paying jobs in the community.”
