NYSSA — The Nyssa Public Library reports a successful Kid-Friendly Food Drive that wrapped up earlier this month. The efforts were spearheaded by the Nyssa Library Board of Directors and was aimed at providing food opportunities for local youth during the summer. The idea of the Kid-Friendly Food Drive was to collect as many non-perishable food items as possible that were easy for youth to fix. Items requested included soups, crackers, PB&J ingredients, ramen, canned tuna & chicken, and more.

The efforts produced a total of 69 pounds of food that was donated and delivered to the Nyssa Food Pantry. Nyssa Public Library stated, “On behalf of the Library Board of Directors, thank you to everyone who donated non-perishable kid friendly food items for the food pantry.
