Nyssa Fire Department extinguishes fire caused by illegal burning

NYSSA — Personnel with the Nyssa Fire Department are reminding the public that a burn ban is currently in place for all of Malheur County, and for good reason. The department has responded to multiple illegal burns this season, with the most recent incident happening July 4^th on Chestnut Avenue. Luckily, firefighters were able to extinguish blaze after arriving on scene.

Nyssa Fire also stated, “…property owners may be liable for costs associated with fire suppression efforts and damages.”
