MISSION – The Northwest Native Economic Summit is returning to Wildhorse Resort & Casino for the second year from Tuesday through Thursday. It’s sponsored by the Affiliated Tribes of Northwest Indians and Nixyaawii Community Financial Services.
“The conference includes everything from food sovereignty topics to small business,” Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation Director of Communications Kaeleen McGuire said. “It meets the needs of folks that are interested in all these elements that have to do with economic development.”
That doesn’t mean there aren’t lighter moments to the summit. There’s a designer’s meet and greet and the Northwest Native Fashion Show.
“We have a number of talented artists who are seamstresses or work on beadwork,” she said.
She said there is information on CTUIR’s social media on how to register for the summit or buy tickets for the fashion show.
