Northeast Oregon nonprofits receive $34,000 in Wildhorse Foundation grants

ENTERPRISE & ELGIN – The Wildhorse foundation has officially announced recipients of its Q4 2025 round of funding. In total, 25 organizations were selected in the latest wave of funding, totaling $353,606 across Oregon and Washington for various projects in; arts and culture, education, environmental protection and restoration, and public health and safety. For those unfamiliar with the eligibility process, Wildhorse would explain in a recent release:

“Each year, the Wildhorse Foundation makes grants to eligible nonprofit, government, and Tribal organizations within the homeland area of the Cayuse, Umatilla, and Walla Walla people. Also eligible for funding are Tribal government agencies or Native American charitable organizations with their base of operations within Oregon, as well as National or Regional Indian Organizations.”

Making the list this time around were two Northeast Oregon organizations. Maxville Heritage Interpretive Center, based in Enterprise, received $30,000.00 dollars for “MHIC Historic Building Renovation.”

Over in Union County, Special Olympics Oregon’s Union County branch, based in Elgin received $4,000.00 dollars for various projects.
