North Powder School District begins superintendent search

NORTH POWDER – Earlier this week, the North Powder School District announced that current superintendent Lance Dixon will officially retire at the conclusion of the 2025-2026 school year. The district has now formally begun the search for a new superintendent. See the following release from North Powder School District below for more details:

Current North Powder Superintendent Lance Dixon has formally announced his retirement at the end of the 2025-26 school year. The North Powder Board of Directors has selected Northwest Leadership Associates to lead the Superintendent Search process for our next Superintendent.

This position is a vital part of our work in moving our mission forward. The North Powder School Board seeks a strong leader committed to delivering a quality education, preparing students for success, and supporting a positive learning environment.

Throughout this process, the input and feedback from our staff and community will be one of the key components of our search. Over the next few months, there will be a variety of ways for our staff and community members and families to get involved.

● ONLINE SURVEYS: We will be sending out an online survey aimed at capturing diverse feedback from our staff and community members and underscoring the significance of your input in this pivotal decision-making process.

● MEETINGS WITH STAFF: Staff members are invited to meet individually or in small groups with Northwest Leadership Associates Consultant Jon Peterson on October 29th from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm in the Elementary Staff Room. Staff members will be able to share their thoughts and ideas regarding the appointment of our new superintendent.

● COMMUNITY FORUM: There will be a Community Forum on October 30th with Northwest Leadership Associates Consultant Jon Peterson. This event will be from 1pm to 6pm at North Powder School. Community members will be able to articulate their perspectives, priorities, and expectations regarding the appointment of our new superintendent. Your valued insights will be critical in the decision making process.
