North Powder man arrested for driving the wrong-way on I-84

NORTH POWDER – At around 4:48 p.m. on Friday, July 24, the Oregon State Police responded to a report of a wrong-way driver on I-84 near milepost 270, with the vehicle later being located and stopped in North Powder. A full summary of the report and response, as provided by OSP in a recent press log, is as follows:
“On 7/24/26 at about 4:48pm OSP and UCSO responded to a reported wrong way driver on I-84 near milepost 270. A sedan was reported as being driven westbound in the eastbound lanes before turning around and driving eastbound. A female passenger was dropped off near Exit 283 and the vehicle continued into North Powder.
The vehicle was later located by UCSO back near Exit 283 and the driver was taken into custody by OSP without incident. The vehicle was driven from the scene by the female passenger. The driver was transported to Union County Jail without incident where he was lodged for Reckless Driving and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.”
The driver was identified as 39-year-old Aiden Alexander Rivera of North Powder. Thankfully, no injuries or damages were reported.
