PENDLETON – No residences were lost and there were no injuries in a fire Friday night in Pendleton that burned near Sunridge Middle School.
Pendleton Fire and Ambulance Chief Tony Pierotti says the size of the fire was about 62 acres and there was some property damage.
“There is a large area of large pieces of wood that will burn at least all night and probably days,” said Pierotti who added that Pendleton Fire crews would be on it all night and re-evaluate it Saturday.
Multiple agencies including Umatilla County Fire District No. 1, Umatilla Tribal Fire Department, Boardman Fire Rescue District, East Umatilla Fire and Rescue, Echo Rural Fire Protection District and the La Grande Fire Department assisted with the fire.
