HUNTINGTON – The City of Huntington is asking for residents and visitors not to park on water meters in town. In a recent announcement, city staff explain that a few problems have been encountered with folks parking on top of the meter. The water meters must be accessible at all times by public works, and the city says there could be repercussions for individuals who do not follow the rules.

The city says, “If you do continue to park on top of the meter and there is damage to the meter, you could be held responsible for the damages or cited and fined up to $500 for blocking public works personnel from being able to access it.”
