No injuries reported in May 16 outbuilding fire, La Grande.

LA GRANDE — (Press Release from the City of La Grande Fire Department) On Saturday May 16th, 2026 at 8:59pm our agency was dispatched to a structure fire at 210 18th St. in La Grande.
Crews arrived to find an outbuilding at the residence fully engulfed in fire with partial collapse. A rapid fire attack was initiated and the fire was quickly extinguished. Unfortunately, due the building construction and initial burn time before discovery, the outbuilding and contents were a complete loss. The main residence received radiant heat damage to a portion of the exterior siding, but was otherwise undamaged by the fire.
We are happy to report, there were no injuries or loss of life involved in this incident. At this time, the specific fire cause remains undetermined.
A total of 13 fire personnel were involved in this incident. We would like to extend our gratitude to our partners at La Grande Rural Fire Protection District for providing us assistance with an Engine and a crew of 6.
