No injuries reported after structure fire near 7th and Place in Baker City

BAKER CITY – Fire crews with Baker City Fire and Rescue responded to a building near 7th and Place in Baker City Wednesday evening.  According to the department, crews were met with black smoke showing from a garage door, and had the flames quickly suppressed. Damage was minimized to vehicles and the structure, but one vehicle sustained heavy damage. 

In total, six Baker Firefighters, two command officers, and one mutual aid company were present for the incident. 

Baker City Fire and Rescue thanked law enforcement and public works employees for their timely response. Mutual aid was rendered by Baker Rural Fire District. It was also noted that “Baker Co 911 emergency dispatchers did an excellent job (again) and are invaluable to our efforts.  Lastly, we send a huge thank you to the local resident who reported the fire. Without the prompt report, the fire could potentially been a total loss.”
