Night Pursuit leads to a dead end

BURNS-(Press Release, Released By Burns Police Department)-On August 06, 2024 at approximately 08:20 pm, a Burns Police Department officer attempted a traffic stop on a black compact sedan on N Alder Avenue and E Jefferson Street, within the City of Burns for observed traffic violations. The vehicle fled the attempted traffic stop. The suspect vehicle was successful in its initial attempt to flee. The initial Burns PD unit discontinued the pursuit when they lost sight/contact with the vehicle.

Additional on-duty Burns PD, Hines PD, and Harney County Sheriff’s Office personnel responded to assist and began to check the area for the involved black compact sedan. 

A Burns PD officer was able to observe a similar vehicle, a black Kia, operating at a high rate of speed westbound on E Washington Street and attempted to engage the vehicle in a traffic stop. The vehicle once again fled and the second Burns PD officer engaged the vehicle in a pursuit.

The pursuit ended when the black Kia turned onto a private drive in the 800 block of N Koa Avenue and found that it was a dead end. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle (27 year old Solana “E” Atalaya Bolden of Dallas, Texas), was taken into custody without further incident.

E Bolden was transported to the Harney County Correctional Facility, where they were lodged for ORS 811.140 Reckless Driving (2 counts) and ORS 811.540 Attempt to Elude – Vehicle (2 counts).

The involved vehicle was determined to be owned by EAN Holdings LLC (operated as Enterprise Rent-A-Car) and was impounded pending return to the registered owner.
