UNION COUNTY – The Union County Sheriff’s Office (UCSO) recently started taking applications for CHL’s in a new way, as well as scheduling fingerprinting. According to UCSO, they “have partnered with Permitium to move the majority of the process on-line. You will be able to apply for a new CHL or renew your CHL online. For new CHLs or transfers from another county you will still have to come into the Sheriff’s Office for fingerprinting and to have a photo taken but for renewals and changes of address you can do the entire process on-line. For new CHL’s and transfers you will be able to schedule an appointment for fingerprinting, etc once you have completed the on-line application. You can also choose to receive email or text messages as your application goes through the process, including when it is done and ready to be mailed or picked up!
Fingerprinting can also be scheduled in much the same way as CHLs. You can fill out your information, make payment and schedule a time for your fingerprinting. Then all you have to do is come into the Sheriff’s Office at your appointment time with a picture ID and get the printing done.” There are links to both the CHL application process and Fingerprint scheduling on the right hand side of our webpage (unioncountysheriff.us).
