New subdivision is on the agenda

WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla County Board of Commissioners will resume in-person public meetings today (Monday) at 10 a.m. On the agenda is approving the final plat for the Lilac subdivision, a seven-lot development on approximately 74 acres. The site is located at the southeast corner of Old Highway 12 and Bunchgrass Lane. The owner and applicant is Joseph Cange of Bunchgrass, LLC in Anchorage, Alaska.

Also on the agenda, Walla Walla County Sheriff Mark Crider will give a presentation and ask commissioners to review expenditures for the county’s portion of the 2021 federal Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant. The county’s portion of the grant is $4,798,000. Funds are proposed to be used to acquire technology equipment to include computers and portable radio equipment.

Commissioners will also consider a resolution approving the use of county roads for the Providence St. Mary Foundation Finish Cancer Walk, Run, Ride Event. The event on Saturday, Sept. 25 from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. consists of 35-mile and 65-mile bicycle courses.
