PENDLETON – Pendleton High School has a capital project already underway that will brighten up the Gold Gym considerably. A roof leak in the school’s oldest gym damaged the floor. The school district plans to fix it up from top to bottom, although only the bottom was insured.
Superintendent Chris Fritsch said that insurance will pay for the damage to the gym floor, but will not cover the needed roof repairs.
“We’re beginning the work on the floor replacement on the Gold Gym, actually if it hasn’t already begun it will begin soon,” Fritsch said. “We’re getting the project for replacing the roof in place and the paperwork submitted for the bidding process.”
The Gold Gym isn’t the district’s only capital project. Fritsch said they are also working on repairs to the HVAC systems at McKay Creek Elementary School, Sunridge Middle School, and Pendleton High School.
