COLLEGE PLACE, Washington – The search for a high school principal continues in College Place. Earlier this month the College Place Public Schools announced it is accepting applications for a principal and will be interviewing qualified candidates on February 21. The interview will include a question and answer forum for parents and other stakeholders. A decision on the new principal is scheduled to be made by February 25. However, the district retains the right to accept applications until an acceptable candidate is hired.
In December, Principal Kirk Jameson requested and was granted a leave of absence for the remainder of the 2018-2019 school year to care for his elderly parents who live out of town. Jameson also resigned from the position effective June 30, 2019.
“With Principal Jameson taking that leave, it caused us to have to be agile and be quick in trying to maintain our learning environment – that’s what we do,” Superintendent Tim Payne explained. “We have applications coming in.”
