PENDLETON – Blue Mountain Community College President Mark Browning is finishing up his first four days on the job and is impressed with his new home. Browning said that Eastern Oregon is the place he and his wife want to be.

“My wife Kim and I are just happy to be here,” he said. “We’ve loved it so far. We’ve got three boys, all out of the house. We’re empty nesters so our full time job outside of BMCC is spoiling our two dogs, Lewis and Clark.”

Browning said the college is sustainable with its current enrollment and he’s planning for careful growth that’s true to both the community and the students.

“Probably the biggest thing for me is to make sure the programs that we have there for the students who come in are aligned for the needs of this region and for the needs of the students,” he said.
