New Life Jacket Kiosks available at Hewitt and Holcomb Parks

BAKER COUNTY – Hewitt and Holcomb Parks in the Brownlee Reservoir area of Baker County have new life jacket kiosks!

These kiosks allow those recreating on the water to borrow a life jacket enjoy a great day on the eater, then return the loaner jacket when you’re done. 

In addition, on the kiosks is signage for those who need help with properly fitting their life jacket.

In Oregon, all Children 12 and under must wear a properly fitted U.S. Coast Guard-approved personal flotation device (PFD) while on a boat that is underway.According to information from the Oregon State Marine Board, “In Oregon, 85 percent of the people who drown in boating accidents would have survived had they worn properly fitting life jackets.”
