New Life Jacket Kiosks available at Hewitt and Holcomb Parks

BAKER COUNTY – Hewitt and Holcomb Parks in the Brownlee Reservoir area of Baker County have new life jacket kiosks!

These kiosks allow those recreating on the water to borrow a life jacket enjoy a great day on the eater, then return the loaner jacket when youโ€™re done. 

In addition, on the kiosks is signage for those who need help with properly fitting their life jacket.

In Oregon, all Children 12 and under must wear a properly fitted U.S. Coast Guard-approved personal flotation device (PFD) while on a boat that is underway.According to information from the Oregon State Marine Board, โ€œIn Oregon, 85 percent of the people who drown in boating accidents would have survived had they worn properly fitting life jackets.โ€
