OLYMPIA – Three new laws that go into effect this week impact police pursuits, parental rights, and income taxes in Washington state. The legislature passed three initiatives, which received bipartisan support, related to those issues.
Senate Republicans said Initiative 2113, the law restoring police pursuits, is a key component of law enforcement’s efforts to fight crime.
Initiative 2081 ensures parents can stay informed by creating a parents’ bill of rights relating to their child’s public-school education.
Senate Republicans say Initiative 2111, the law to ban income taxes, is something most Washingtonians have long supported.
