New Emergency Management Coordinator talks preparedness

JOHN DAY – Grant County Emergency Management Coordinator Eric Bush began work in the county’s “L Building” on September 7th. He swung by the studio recently and explained the role of the Emergency Management Coordinator:
“I don’t give any orders, I support the people who do. What we do, is we’re the subject matter expert that helps bring resources to an incident and to an incident commander, who may not have the right tools to do their job at hand. We have to know where those tools are and who to talk to, and how to bring those tools to bear to solve whatever problem the community might be facing.”
