UMATILLA COUNTY – The Umatilla County Board of Commissioners is moving forward to replace two bridges that were damaged in the 2020 Umatilla River flood. Chairman George Murdock said they’ve approved spending almost $240,000 to replace a wooden bridge at Harris Park near Milton-Freewater.
“There’s been a wooden bridge in place for several years that was donated to us, but it needs to be replaced,” Murdock said.
The prefabricated modular steel vehicular bridge from True North Steel Bridge will cost $239,361. One other bid was received for $288,840.
The board also approved issuing a request for proposals to replace the modular steel vehicular bridge on Mac Hoke Road southeast of Echo that was damaged during the flooding.
