BAKER COUNTY – (Release issued by the Baker County Sheriff’s Office) On June 7, 2021 at approximately 2:21 p.m., Baker County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a 911 call regarding a domestic disturbance. The caller indicated that she had been assaulted and was walking on a dirt road but was unsure of the location.
As deputies were attempting to determine the location of the caller, they were notified that the female had been picked up by two passerby near Old Auburn Lane. Deputies made contact with the victim who told them that she and her boyfriend, identified as Brian Gary Willets (48 yoa), had driven from Nevada and were camping near Phillips Lake. During their time there, Willets had assaulted the victim by shoving her to the ground. She suffered several injuries and was transported to St. Alphonsus Medical Center.
At approximately 7:31 p.m., deputies stopped a 2003 Jeep Wrangler being driven by Willets. Willets was taken into custody without incident and charged with Assault IV (domestic) and Harassment. He was transported and lodged at the Baker County Jail.
