LA GRANDE – The two day community blood draw this week produced more than was anticipated. Sheldon and Linda Strand, coordinators of the local blood draw said, “We hit the jackpot!” The goal was 200 units for the two days and 206 units was received, nearly 26 gallons.
The Red Cross representative told the Strands that they host the highest producing draws in his area.
“Community response was great, lots of new and former donors. The Red Cross crew was beyond excellent,” said Sheldon.
“We were short volunteers through some situations beyond their control but new people stepped in and helped.
The next draw is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, November 16 and 17.
