WALLA WALLA – Walla Walla Development Services reports representatives from Natural Grocers have applied and paid for three permits – a building permit for partial demolition and exterior reconstruction of the 102 E. Poplar St. building, a civil review permit for a new parking lot, and a variance request to reducing parking stall depth.
Walla Walla Administrative Permit Coordinator Pam Ransier said Natural Grocers must still complete a tenant improvement inside the building before opening and added that permit is not yet applied for.
Ransier said to the best of her knowledge, the building has been vacant for some time.
“At one time it was used as a call center for Banner Bank, but those services have been moved elsewhere,” she added.
Natural Grocers is a retailer of natural and organic groceries, body care products, and dietary supplements. The downtown Walla Walla location will be the company’s first location in the Walla Walla Valley.
