NORTHEAST OREGON – The US National Weather Service Pendleton Office recently announced that portions of Northeast and Central Oregon may see a notable drop in temperatures this weekend. Average temperatures (Highs in the high 30s to mid-40s) will continue throughout the work week before a mass of colder air will cause a rapid drop over the weekend.

As of the time of writing, areas around La Grande and Baker City could see daytime highs around or below freezing on Saturday and Sunday, with nighttime lows dropping as low as the mid-teens. Higher elevation areas in central Oregon and the Wallowa Valley may possibly see single digit low temperatures.

During this time, little to no precipitation is expected outside of the high mountain areas. Nonetheless, always be mindful of ice buildup in certain areas, particularly on the roadways. Also Keep in mind that weather patterns can shift, and predictions may change as the weekend draws closer.
