LA GRANDE – Nakkita Titus has joined the Northeast Oregon Area Health Education Center (NEOAHEC) team. The following is a release issued by NEOAHEC.
Nikkita is new to the NEOAHEC crew, but not new to Northeast Oregon. Nikkita is a native of Union County and says, “I find it difficult to express the passion that I have surrounding healthcare in a rural setting. Rural and frontier medicine is like nothing else, and many people will never get the privilege of living and serving these communities!”
Nikkita will be working with NEOAHEC to develop clinical placements for health professions learners, and to support current preceptors who are welcoming learners into their practice. She will be working with the OHSU Campus for Rural Health initiative and the corresponding interprofessional education course and community based project. Nikkita will also work on new NEOAHEC collaborations and projects related to clinical education.
“I am excited for the opportunity to foster regional outreach while also promoting the unknown to so many prospective healthcare advocates. As a Registered Nurse it is one of my personal goals to bring both community and healthcare together, by creating a bond that is stronger than ever for the communities that I love and cherish,” said Nikkita.
As a master’s prepared nurse, Nikkita has had the opportunity to grow as an educator in her profession, and NEOAHEC feels privileged to have her as part of our team. Nikkita is an excellent personal advocate for rural and frontier healthcare, and she will have a positive influence in the region for generations to come.
Nikkita can be contacted through email at ntitus@neoahec.org.
