PENDLETON – MyaLyn Mills and Manaia Wolf were introduced as the 2026 Happy Canyon Princesses, becoming the official ambassadors for the 2026 Happy Canyon Night Show.

“Moments like this remind us why Happy Canyon has endured for more than a century,” remarked Happy Canyon Director Casey Hunt on the show’s 110th year.” It’s because of people and families, volunteers, elders, mentors, horse crews, and especially young women like the two we are introducing today who will carry forward our history.”

Hunt recognized the many people in attendance who are involved in Happy Canyon including directors, tribal members, and former Happy Canyon princesses. Members of the Round-Up board as well as the Round-Up queen and court, were also present.

Many in attendance presented gifts to the princesses, including the traditional Passing of the Bags by last year’s princesses, Avery Quaempts and Korie Spencer.

“I’ve always gone to the Pendleton Round-Up and me and my family have always been in the horse parades getting to see the Happy Canyon Princess ride around,” said Mills. “Now that I’m actually a Happy Canyon Princess it feels like a dream come true.”

Wolf’s family has a lineage of Happy Canyon Princesses starting in 1963 with her grandmother Alvina (Burke) Huesties.

“Just being able to learn from the and how they coped with things and how they prepared,” said Wolf.
