Multiple break-ins & a stolen vehicle in Prairie City, suspect(s) at large

PRAIRIE CITY – (Press Release from Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley)

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office has taken multiple reports of unlocked vehicles having been entered in the Prairie City area overnight [Sunday night and Monday morning]. 

Between the hours of 10:00 pm and 4:30 am, a vehicle on North Washington Street was taken and moved about a block. Nothing was missing from the vehicle. 

Two vehicles on North Main were entered, as well as another on North Washington, and two near Southwest Johnson. 

Two vehicles on South West Bridge were entered and two rifles were removed from one of these. 

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office request persons with home security cameras in the Prairie area to check them for possible footage of the suspect. 

The suspect was observed by a homeowner who was awoken near 0330 am. The suspect is described as a Caucasian male wearing a black beanie with a black hoodie on and is near five foot eight, about 150 pounds.
