PILOT ROCK – Several agencies responded to a grass fire Wednesday south of Pilot Rock, that grew to approximately 250 acres.
A call came into Umatilla County dispatch from Pilot Rock authorities at 4:56 p.m. reporting the fire. Pendleton Fire and Ambulance Chief Tony Pierotti said that his department, Echo Rural Fire Protection District and Umatilla Tribal Fire Department as well as Pilot Rock Rural Fire Protection District all responded. Pendleton Fire and Ambulance Assistant Chief Valorie Tomren added that their department sent one brush truck with two crew and two chief officers to assist.
Pierotti said there were no injuries, and no structures were involved.
