Mt. Vernon enters ‘Regulated Closure’ for burning

MT. VERNON – The City of Mt. Vernon and Mt. Vernon Rural Fire Protection District have gone into Regulated Closure as of 12:01 a.m. on July 1^st. According to Chief Justin May, that means no open burning, including barrels, is allowed at any time.

The Oregon Department of Forestry’s Central Oregon District entered fire season last month.
