Mt. Vernon enters ‘Regulated Closure’ for burning

MT. VERNON – The City of Mt. Vernon and Mt. Vernon Rural Fire Protection District have gone into Regulated Closure as of 12:01 a.m. on July 1st. According to Chief Justin May, that means no open burning, including barrels, is allowed at any time.

The Oregon Department of Forestry’s Central Oregon District entered fire season last month.
