LA GRANDE – (Information provided by EOU Athletics) The NAIA has released its third edition of the women’s volleyball top-25 rankings as announced by the national office on Wednesday morning. The Mountaineers check in this week at No. 13.
Eastern Oregon moved up one spot from the last set of rankings where the team had been slotted 14th. The Mountaineers managed to move up one spot after winning their last seven matches and currently sits at 13-4 overall and is 8-1 in conference play.
Out of the Cascade Collegiate Conference, three total teams are still earning national attention, including EOU. Corban University is the highest ranked squad still and has moved up one spot to No. 6 after spending the past month at the No. 7 spot. The only other team garnering national recognition is Bushnell University who is in the receiving votes category and what would be 27th.
The Mountaineers return home to Quinn Coliseum this weekend to face a pair Washington state rivals in Evergreen State College and Northwest University. Eastern takes on the Geoducks on Friday Oct. 1 at 7 p.m., followed by Northwest on Saturday, Oct. 2 at 5 p.m.
