This morning a fire was reported off of Highway 97 near mile post 131, north of Bend, in an area located north of Juniper Ridge. The fire was called in around 09:00 on February 10th, after multiple reports of a large smoke column in the area.  A fire engine and support vehicle from Bend Fire & Rescue and units from Deschutes County Sheriffs Office responded to the scene.  Units on scene found a fully involved motorhome on fire with severe damage.  Bend Fire units extinguished the fire and performed a fire investigation. Reports from a witness on scene stated that the single occupant of the motorhome had informed him of the fire and left the scene prior to emergency units arrival.  The fire is still under investigation at this time and an updated media release will be completed when more information is obtained.
