Motorcycle crash in the The Dalles claims life of West Richland man

THE DALLES – A West Richland man died Tuesday after his motorcycle struck an Oregon Department of Transportation vehicle on Interstate 84 in The Dalles.

Ryan King, 38, struck the ODOT attenuator vehicle that was assisting a sweeping operation along the center median of the interstate. The attenuator vehicle was in the left-hand lane to act as a safety barrier for the sweeper when King struck it from behind.

King was pronounced deceased at the scene, no other injuries were reported.

The accident caused traffic to be diverted off the interstate while authorities responded to and investigated the crash.
