PENDLETON – The Pendleton Development Commission has approved $150,000 in grants and loans to Cascadia Hospitality LLC to help with the renovation of the old Knight’s Inn. City Manager Robb Corbett said the mission of the PDC is to bring business to the downtown area and turning the derelict motel into a destination lodging called Pendleton MotoLodge shows that its mission is being fulfilled.
“They were looking at Baker City, but when they looked at the Knights Inn, looked at the urban renewal program, and looked at our investment in tourism, they chose to do business here,” Corbett said.
Cascadia has already purchased the motel and is at work getting it ready to open under its new name by Memorial Day weekend.
“We’re thrilled that they’re here,” Corbett said. “It’s going to be a great addition to our downtown core and it’s just only going to stimulate more activity.”
