Morrow County DA gets some needed help

HEPPNER – Morrow County District Attorney Justin Nelson is still searching for a deputy district attorney. However he has been given some help in responding to criminal cases. Latosha Hedman is now on board as Morrow County’s first legal assistant.
“I want to thank the Morrow County Board of Commissioners, the administration, and the budget committee for seeing the importance of this position,” he said.
Nelson said Hedman’s past experience is really paying off.
“She’s worked for state courts for many years for the circuit court,” he said. “She worked as a legal assistant for other law firms. She also has experience as a dispatcher. So basically she has all the skills that we would need for criminal cases.”
Nelson said her law enforcement experience is especially valuable.
“She has already hit the ground running,” he said.
