Morgan Lake re-opens, with restrictions

LA GRANDE – Beginning today, August 24, 2021, the La Grande Parks and Recreation will re-open Morgan Lake. With a fire ban still in effect, there are still restrictions. Day use and camping will be allowed along with propane stoves only. Open fires are prohibited. The opening coincides with the Oregon Department’s announcement Monday, reducing restrictions for Regulated-Use Closures, or Public Use Restrictions for forestlands protected by the Northeast Oregon District. The reduced restrictions are due to moderating weather and seasonal temperatures and precipitation.
