JOHN DAY – Grant County Health Department Manager Jessica Winegar said that public health officials have almost worked through the COVID-19 wait list:

“We have less than 600 people on our wait list, I believe, at the moment. With the amount of vaccines we’ve been getting, we would be through that list in a couple of weeks.”

Eligibility is loosening up as the county moves into Group 6 and 7 of Phase 1b, meaning frontline workers will soon be able to get vaccinated. Winegar said that much of the Grant County workforce fits into this category. Find the sequencing graphic attached below:

According to Community Counseling Solutions Director Kimberly Lindsay, currently about 11% of the Grant County population have received the COVID-19 vaccine. About half of those individuals are fully-vaccinated and have received their second dose. She noted that anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 are only estimated to be safe for 90 days before being at-risk of catching the virus again.
